It just has to be said that 80s slasher movies have some of the greatest and weirdest deaths ever known to the horror genre.

Writers and directors know that the movies are made to be ridiculously funny, and a little bit jumpy, so they usually go all-out to make the deaths as gruesome, far-fetched and as strange as humanly possible.

This 11-second video from Friday the 13th Part 3 shows us just why slasher films are one of the greatest sub-genre’s of horror; and is the first Friday the 13th film where very-undead serial-murderer Jason Voorhees wears his famous hockey mask disguise.

The death belongs to Rick, the old boyfriend of one of the soon to be dead main characters, Chris – the story really doesn’t need to be told in much detail (check out Horrorbles ‘Slasher Movie Formula’ here) –

Lets just watch.

Poor Rick.

His head was crushed by a murderous dead man who has come back to life to avenge his crazy mother’s death after he drowned as a kid at Camp Crystal Lake all those years ago (does anyone actually know how he managed to grow up?)

Anyway, before we get too sidetracked.

This is probably one of the most hilariously fake and so unrealistic deaths in the series – it’s obviously not real, and it’s not like we’re complaining because, well, it’s a movie – but just watch it again – his eye pops out of it’s socket like a brand new slinky coming out of the box.

7/10 for the death being completely ridiculous – one of slasher’s finest moments.
